Voice Work For Singing and Self Expression

Have you ever wanted to sing but thought you can’t… or wanted to dance but thought you looked funny… or wanted to drum but say you don’t know how?

Did you know that energetic blockages in the throat center can stop you from going for expressions of all kinds;  whether it is to sing, say what you need to say to someone important, start that new business, or give your best gifts to the world.

Joy Lynn Freeman has a unique gift to share that comes from her own experience – in miraculously growing out of her own inabilities.    Joy had wanted to sing her entire life but states she was not born with the natural ability to sing.  After many stints of traditional singing lessons that brought about little progress,  Joy’s internal guidance had her fall upon unique methods and approaches to singing where she successfully taught herself to sing – that is, the ability to remember melodies, sing harmonies, to have a good ear for pitch, and expand the range and quality of her voice.  To the point that she now performs her own songs and teaches others how to expand their vocal capacities as well.

She states “I feel like someone who couldn’t walk, who can now walk – it’s a miracle!” But the magic was more, as these methods did more than open her singing voice.  It unleashed her creativity overall.  She finished a book that had sat untouched for years, created an album of songs she wrote, (that others sing) and later created another CD of songs – on which she sang, plus lost her inhibitions to express herself more fully in public.

Singing Your Soul

Do you love to sing but think you can’t?

Are you a closet (shower or car) bebopper?

Can you only sing on the lines (songs of others) ?

Are you considered a good singer but know there is more?

Do you desire to express yourself more fully in other areas of life?

“For many the process of becoming an adult is a process of being increasingly silenced. Singing gently uncovers this block and returns impulse and instinct to the person  and to the world.”

Paul Newham: Founder of Voice Movement Therapy

Experience how singing can bring joy to your heart and awaken your soul

Have you ever wanted to sing but thought you can’t… or wanted to dance but thought you looked funny… or wanted to drum but say you don’t know how?

Did you know that energetic blockages in the throat center can stop you from going for expressions of all kinds;  whether it is to sing, say what you need to say to someone, start that new business, or give your best gifts to the world.

Singing Your Soul is a powerful and unique process to release energetic blockages in the throat, open the voice, and promote full self expression.

This work is about claiming your voice and opening your throat center (center of expression and creativity) – not only for singing with more ease and joy but also for empowering your voice in life.  It will help you to heal your inhibitions about expressing yourself and release you from self-criticism.  Free expression of your voice creates a magnetism that will help bring in what you need to live your authentic life.

If you are ready to open your voice to sing and express who you are in life more fully, then Singing Your Soul is for you.  Each session combines structure (technique and focused vocal exercises) and unique non-linier work.   Through singing, guided voice play exercises, and special creativity opening processes, you will access your personal power, creative expression and set free your unique and natural voice.

The Singing Your Soul Process utilizes:

  • Unique vocal exercises – for placement, power and quality
  • “Voice Work” – specialized non linear process and techniques to heal and release blockages in the psyche and throat center
  • Fun and creative vocal play – to open creativity and the ability to truly “Sing Your Soul”

Singing from the heart is a natural part of most indigenous cultures and is seriously lacking in ours. These cultures understood the value of singing for joy, emotional balance, and community connection.   We have mistakenly come to believe that only the “talented few” have the right to sing. Absolutely the farthest thing from the truth!  IF THE DESIRE TO SING IS THERE, YOU WILL ALSO FIND THE CAPACITY.  It happened for me, it can happen for you.

Learn to find and appreciate your own voice. No matter what you consider your singing ability, you can experience the joy, opening and soulful effects of letting your voice ring out.
